The Hiking Club of Catalonia (Centre Excursionista de Catalunya) is a sports and cultural association that has been declared a public interest organisation.
It is a leading institution in the world of mountain sports rooted in civil society and has been a driving force behind hiking in all of its manifestations since 1876.
The Centre Excursionista de Catalunya (Hiking Club of Catalonia) has been long recognised for its appetite to open new pathways and is driven by its desire to be modern and innovative.
The CEC’s basic ongoing remit is to promote, further and encourage physical and sports activities in natural surroundings, as well as raising awareness about history, traditions, customs, language and art in all of their manifestations.
The Centre Excursionista de Catalunya obtained the certificate that proves that its management system is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Club thus became the first sports club in the world to obtain this certification.
THE CEC
FRIENDLY ENTERPRISE PROGRAMME
This is corporate sponsorship and partnership programme in an attractive package that seeks to forge synergies with different businesses and institutions across the board that have a history and values.
It is therefore able to deliver specific services and experiences focused on the activities described below.
One day at HQ
The HQ’s conference room and meeting room can be used for half or a full day. There is also a guided tour and a photograph is given away from the Photographic Library.
Team Building
A group of 10–20 people go an excursion once a year for half a day. It includes a photo report, a guide, materials and insurance.
Website
The Club’s logo appears on its website and on its newsletter to members.
Hostel experience
There is a discount for the Club’s workers on the accommodation at Salardú Hostel.
Tax deductions
The Hiking Club of Catalonia has been declared a public interest organisation that also promotes the Catalan language. These circumstances mean that both membership fees and donations benefit from big tax breaks of up to 85% for individuals and 30% for legal entities. Further information..
